Bee Experiences

Following numerous requests, we are now offering a beginner's taster session in beekeeping here at the hotel. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the workings of a beehive and what is involved in keeping bees and can be arranged at a time to suit yourself.

The exact content of the session will depend on your own preferences and also the time of year, but will typically last about 2 hours, of which approximately half will be spent looking at the equipment and learning about bees and honey, and the remainder will be spent actually examining a real colony of our gentle bees. You will get the opportunity to open up a hive of bees for yourself and may even be able to spot the queen! Refreshments will be provided.

All participants will be presented with a photograph of themselves examining the colony and a jar of our own honey to take away.

Taster sessions are available subject to suitable weather from April - September and for either individuals or groups of up to 3 people. All equipment will be provided apart from wellington boots.

Beginners taster sessions are only £45.00 per person and gift vouchers are available, making this a perfect opportunity for a unique present.
