Hidden England

Hidden England represents an area that is waiting to be discovered. It offers the visitor five of the most unique historic houses and castles, many of them still lived in by the families who built them hundreds of years ago.

Rockingham castle was a royal fortress as well as a family home, whilst Belvoir Castle is home to the Duke & Duchess of Rutland.

Burghley House is the grandest house of the first Elizabethan Age, Belton house is the crowning achievement of Restoration country house architecture.

Grimsthorpe Castle boasts Sir John Vanbrugh's last major work.

Belvoir Castle is the home of the Duke & Duchess of Rutland and family. The castle enjoys breathtaking views over the Vale of Belvoir and houses an impressive collection of period art and furniture.

Belton House is one of the finest Restoration houses in the country and has stunning interiors, fine silver and furniture collections

All of these fine houses are within easy reach of Sysonby Knoll, and make an excellent itinerary for a short break.

These 5 historic houses of Hidden England have teamed up to produce a "passport" scheme offering "two for the price of one" on admission. Please see the Hidden England website for further details.
