Buffet for Jenny's birthday

A milestone birthday of mine occurred in November, those who don’t know can guess the age (no insults please). I always say any excuse for a party so a Casino night was held at the hotel. Thanks to those who helped celebrate my birthday and contributed to MacMillan Cancer Support instead of buying presents. I am fairly sure a good night was had by all. The buffet prepared by Sue and the team was excellent with peoples efforts at eating crayfish providing entertainment.

November sees us hurtling towards the Christmas season. The bookings are coming in quite well. The crackers etc are ordered, I am sure we have forgotten something- hopefully not serious! Chef Susan normally remembers everything and reminds me about my bits!

The restaurant lights were dimmed, candles flickered, bats flitted about, and skeletons adorned the walls— yes all in the name of Halloween. The Halloween feast went well, the decor looked suitably spooky. The winner of the prize draw, Ms J Tobin, enjoyed a meal for 2. The Halloween event is always fun, but seems a lot of work to decorate for just one night!! I am sure next year that will be forgotten and we will enthusiastically (with the help of the children) decorate again.
