Christmas finishes!

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Yes that is it Christmas is finally over. We had the last party complete with crackers last night. The St Marys Parish enjoyed a belated Christmas party with mulled wine at the start and the option of Christmas pudding at the end.

The crackers and cloths etc are now finally in the loft until November anyway !

Burns Night 2010

Monday, January 25th, 2010

On Saturday 23rd we held a Burns Night supper hosted with Melton Rotary Club. We had 66 attendees including Rotarians, their guests and hotel guests. The restaurant and tables had touches of tartan ! Piper Bill piped everyone to the table. A traditional Burns supper was served with guests carving joints of specially matured beef at the table. It was a very successful evening and included a raffle, whisky tasting and a very late night !! Thanks to Rotary and especially Piper Bill.

Monday, January 11th, 2010

We are still in party mode the Holwell Rifle Club held their presentation evening here last Friday. Lots of silverware was handed out and a good time seemed to be had!

Our son James has started going and was presented with a trophy spoon for improvement and attendance. He was chuffed to bits so thank you to Holwell.

The snowman is still here. The snow is not proving good for business, we are gaining a few stranded people but losing more who quite rightly don’t wish to travel.

On a lighter note those who were lucky enough to get 2 for 1 vouchers in Dececember to use Jan to March 2010, book now. We can only have a limited number per lunch/ evening session so don’t leave it to the last couple of weeks or you may not be able to use it.

New Years News

Monday, January 4th, 2010

I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. we closed after lunch on Christmas day and reopened today. We stayed at the hotel and had some family time. James, Zoë and their friends enjoyed playing hide and seek around the hotel and the function room was used as a play room !  A snowman appeared on the lawn, it looks like he may stay for a while.
