At the Business Awards last night we were awarded the Best Green Business. We were also highly commended in The Best Eating Experience and Business of the Year.

This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work put in by all of our staff - well done everyone.

We had the Visit Britain Tourist Insector staying last night, unless you recognise them or guess you do not know until after they check out in the morning!! We sat down with her this morning and are pleased to say the visit went well. We have increased our rating within the 3 star bracket and she has recommended us for a Silver award within the 3 star category. Congrats to all staff. 

The rest of this week is busy. Tomorrow evening is the Melton Times Business Awards dinner at the Market Tavern. We have a table so it should be fun !

Friday we have a budget breakfast held by one of the local accountants and at lunch we have the u3A  History Group lunch, so I think we will be busy.

2 for 1 vouchers are coming back in increasing amounts. These were given to diners over the Christmas period and are valid until the end of march. If you still have one don’t leave it until the last day as we cannot fit you all in then !!

Macmillan Cancer Support are 100 years old in 2011 as is Sysonby Knoll -  the house was built in 1911 by Mr Thurman. They have held just held their local AGM and we have agreed to host a ‘ We are 1oo years old’  Garden Party at the hotel for them on Monday 30th May.  This will help to raise funds for MacMillan a charity that supported my family when my Mother was ill. I will keep you updated of plans for the day which I am sure will be a great event.

Sysonby Knoll is 100 years old this year!

Good news - this week we have just found out we are finalists in 3 categories of the Melton Times Business Awards. Best Green business, Best eating experience (which we won last year) and Business of the year. We will now be visited by the judges from each category.
